The Israel Academy of Science and Humanities

The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities is a senior organization in the Israeli science community. Chartered by law in 1961, it acts as a national focal point for Israeli scholarship in the sciences; cultivates and promotes scientific activity; advises the government about research and scientific planning with national significance; maintains relations with equivalent bodies abroad; represents Israeli sciences in international institutions and conferences; and publishes works that can contribute to the advancement of science. The Israel Academy of Sciences considers the advancement and development of scientific research a matter of national importance.
