A TED conference on mathematics and science teaching will be held at the Weizmann Institute
TED events are transmitted via the Internet to a global audience and distributed on social networks. Several TEDx pants have already taken place in Israel but as of today, none of them have focused on teachers and quality teaching.
The Davidson Institute for Science Education is the educational arm of the Weizmann Institute of Science. The Davidson Institute was founded in 1999 and runs science education programs for students, teachers and the general public. The wide variety of programs is designed to encourage excellence among students and to create frameworks for professional development for teachers. The conference will feature 6-10 lectures given by senior math and science teachers, students as well as by scientists who will talk about their teachers’ impact on their lives.
The event will be recorded and broadcast live via the Internet. Edited lectures will be uploaded to the global TED website in the hope and expectation that will attract a wider audience in Israel and around the world.
