Teachers’ Song for Teacher’s Day 2021

This year will mark a decade since the Trump Foundation began its activity in Israel. During this special year, we will be proposing a series of events and publications celebrating success, excellence and collaboration. As part of this package we are suggesting to give a modest gift to Teacher’s Day, an initiative originated by the foundation in 2013, and which has since become a regular part of the education calendar, continuing independently every year. Teacher’s Day is celebrated in schools across the country, with ceremonies of gratitude to teachers by students, parents and the general public.

The modest gift we are proposing will be the production of a song for teachers, by teachers. Hundreds of teachers from all over the country will participate in this special tribute. The teachers will sing together and the song will be edited and prepared for broadcast on television and social media. The production will be organized by Koolulam, a social music initiative that brings together large groups of people to produce a joint video clip. This clip will be broadcast in collaboration with Keshet (Channel 12).

Orchestrating this effort will be a not for profit organization named Looking Forward, which was established at the initiative of Keshet. Looking Forward is a veteran partner of the foundation in previous media campaigns. It will convene the producers and the broadcaster, approach the teachers, and create collaborations with the Ministry of Education, the teachers union, school networks, local authorities and colleges. It will also prepare short preview clips and engage additional donors to allow for more teachers to participate in the event.

Channel 12 will screen the short clips, and will broadcast the song before and during Teacher’s Day. The song will be aired six times on Channel 12, including during prime time. The clip will then be disseminated via social media, in order to engage many more viewers who would be encouraged to share it with their peers and friends.
